The phone app
Cabana on your phone is the same plan as Cabana on the website. Sign in with the same account and everything's already there, and a change on one shows up on the other within moments.

Getting the app
Cabana's on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. It's free to download. Get the app.
Signing in
Use your email address and password, Continue with Google, or on an iPhone, Sign in with Apple. If you've forgotten your password, the app emails you a link, and it opens in your browser because that's where the password form is.
The home screen widget
Add Cabana from your phone's widget gallery to see today's plan without opening anything. On an iPhone it comes in three sizes, and on Android you can stretch it to whatever size suits your screen:
- Small shows the date with a ring that fills as you tick things off, and the next few things still to do.
- On an iPhone, medium shows your first four tasks and large your first nine.
Nothing on means an empty day. Open Cabana means the widget hasn't seen today's plan yet, which can happen overnight: open the app and it catches up. It follows the filters you've got switched on, keeps up with changes made elsewhere every quarter of an hour or so, and tapping it opens today.
Reminders
Open the More actions menu (the three dots), then Reminders. There are two, and you pick the time for each: a morning summary of what's on today, and a nudge the night before about tomorrow. Both are off until you turn one on, and that's the only time your phone asks whether Cabana may send notifications.
- A morning with nothing on it gets no summary at all.
- Reminders are worked out on your phone from the plan already on it. Nothing is sent to us to make them.
- Your phone lines up a fortnight of them each time you open or leave the app. Leave it unopened for a fortnight and they go quiet until you're back.
- Each phone has its own setting, and signing out switches them off.
Planning with no signal
Keep going. Anything that can't be saved yet is kept on your phone, and the top of the screen says Not saved. Retry. Tap it to try again, or just carry on: the app tries again whenever you come back to it.
When your changes reach the server, they're joined with anything that happened elsewhere, task by task. If you changed a task on your phone that was deleted on the website in the meantime, your change wins and the task comes back.
One thing to know: signing out clears anything that hasn't been saved yet. If it says Not saved, wait until you've got signal before you sign out.
What's different on a phone
- Week view is seven day bubbles with one day open underneath. On a tablet wide enough to fit them, it's seven columns like the website.
- There's no month tray down the side. Year view holds a tray for each month instead, and Change the date in a task's menu moves things between them.
- Hold a task for a moment to drag it, and slide it sideways to tuck it under the one above.
- Share this plan, Categories, Stripes and Export and import are all in the More actions menu.
- Keyboard shortcuts, and your year in review, are on the website.
Subscribing in the app
More actions, then Subscribe. On an iPhone the subscription is sold by Apple, and on Android by Google Play, at the price their screen shows. There's a button to restore a purchase you've already made, and Manage your subscription under Account takes you to the store's own list when you want to change or cancel it. Your subscription has the details.
