How stamps work

What earns a stamp, when it lands, where your passport is, and what happens to a day you don't finish.

Updated on 26 October 2026

What counts as a finished day

A day with something on it, and every bit of it ticked off by the end of the day, sub-tasks and repeating tasks included. A quiet day counts the same as a busy one, and a day with nothing on it doesn't count at all. Press a day's ring to tick off everything left on it in one go.

A finished Saturday in Cabana on an Android phone: every task on it ticked off and struck through, and its stamp, a croissant in a scalloped ring, printed over the corner of the day.

When it lands

A day's stamp is decided once the day's over, at midnight wherever you are. Tick off the last thing and Cabana tells you your stamp lands in the morning. The next time you open it, the stamp presses on. Been away a few days? Each finished day's stamp lands together, oldest first.

Ticking off yesterday's leftovers this morning, or moving them to today, doesn't earn yesterday a stamp. A day's done when it ends.

Your passport

It's the round button beside the + at the bottom of the app, and beside the bell on the website. Stamps go in eight to a page, in the order you earn them, and a full page gets sealed. Tap a stamp to see what it's for.

Save a sealed page as a picture, or share it, with the buttons under the page. It's the same passport wherever you open it, so a stamp you've seen on your phone won't press on all over again on the website.

First times and keepsakes

  • Arrived, the day you joined.
  • First task, and a first time for each way in: the first list you say out loud, paste, snap or email in.
  • First bits & bobs for your first note, and All wrapped up for the first one you mark complete.
  • Lucky seven and Full moon, for seven and thirty finished days in a row. A day with nothing on it doesn't break a run.
  • Welcome back, for your first finished day after a week or more away.

On a shared plan

A finished day goes in the passport of whoever owns the plan. If you've joined somebody's plan and haven't got one of your own, its days count for you too. Tick off a task somebody else added and you get Teamwork, and the first time anybody joins a plan of yours there's Shared a plan.

Nothing's ever taken away

Miss a day and nothing happens. There's no streak to lose and nobody tells you off. Untick something on a day after its stamp has landed and the stamp stays right where it is.
